History

CVOEO assumed operations of the Foundations Family Shelter on May 23rd, 2025 after a period of training and shadowing. Guests who were staying at the state-run shelter at the time and all future guests were invited to stay for as long as necessary while continuing to work on their housing plan.

CVOEO is accepting new referrals to the shelter through the Coordinated Entry (CE) system, and is open to anyone currently in, or looking for housing in, the agency-designated covered areas of Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties. We are working with the CE team, alongside our Outreach programs, to help families not yet in CE to get onto our referral list.

With an incredible team of staff drawing on experience from/with many local community partners, we are excited to provide 24/7 coverage and support for our guests, and look forward to moving into our new permanent home in Burlington in 2026.
