2025 In Their Shoes

Despite the rain, community members showed up on May 24 for the 2025 In Their Shoes event, a powerful day of learning, connection, and action. We’re so grateful to everyone who participated, donated, and walked with us to raise awareness about homelessness in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties.

Together, we raised $15,912 through sponsorships, peer-to-peer campaigns, and one-time gifts — all of which directly support individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness into safe, stable housing.

The day began with moving remarks from CVOEO’s Executive Director, program leaders from Voices Against Violence and Samaritan House, advocate Khayli Elizabeth, and partners from Hope Grove and NCSS. Participants then joined a guided walk through our local network of care — with stops at community partners offering crucial support services.

Homelessness rates in Vermont have increased over 300% in the past 5 years. With the 4th highest rate of homelessness in the nation, it's clear that we must come together to address this urgent issue and care for those in our community who are unsheltered. Thanks to your generosity, our doors remain open — offering hope, connection, and a path toward home.
