Outreach & Communications
At CVOEO, we conduct many different forms of outreach to a wide range of audiences. There is a lot to consider!
The following resources are meant to facilitate effective communication and collaboration with external stakeholders, including media, community partners and leaders, current and prospective clients, and all individuals and groups.
This document was developed to help us work together to build reliable and cohesive branded communications and marketing materials that collectively build CVOEO’s reputation in the communities we serve.
Why Use a Style Guide?
A consistent style guide helps us create materials that are recognizable and trustworthy. With community members accessing services from various organizations, a unified voice strengthens our brand and makes it easier for people to connect with our services across programs. Many CVOEO programs have their own outreach approach to meet specific community needs. By following these guidelines whenever possible, we familiarize community members with our branding and help them understand each program within the context of CVOEO’s overarching mission.

Presentations
Nobody likes to start a PowerPoint from scratch. To use CVOEO’s template, download the file and overwrite the contents to make it your own. The presentation defaults with an intro slide, but you are able to swap this out or add to it from the New Slide menu, which includes a variety of branded slides. On the Home tab, click New Slide. In the New Slide dialog box, select the layout that you want for your new slide.
To better serve our clients, each other, and the community, CVOEO aims to strengthen and communicate the collaborative approach between our various programs. Since many of our clients benefit from multiple services, it's important to recognize the full range of our work and emphasize that CVOEO provides comprehensive support to meet their needs. When engaging with external constituents, especially the media, highlight how your program is part of the CVOEO umbrella.
Together, we are stronger! Please keep in mind that this webpage is a living document and will be updated regularly. Thank you for being a part of this effort.

Philanthropy
The Philanthropy team works with programs at CVOEO to solicit monetary and In Kind donations. Most of CVOEO’s services are free but providing them is not. Donations help offset gaps from Federal and State grants as well as allow programs greater flexibility. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law, EIN# 03-0216837.
In addition to soliciting gifts a key part of philanthropy’s work is stewarding the donations through tracking their giving, prompt acknowledgement of their generosity, and providing thoughtful updates on the impact of their support.
There are several ways individuals, businesses, and community groups can donate including in honor or in memory of a loved one, cash, check, credit, debit, ACH, PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay, Donor-advised funds (DAF), gifts through their will or estate, stocks, and more. A more detailed outline can be found on CVOEO’s Donate Now webpage.
If someone expresses interest in donating to CVOEO, please connect them with the Philanthropy team at philanthropy@cvoeo.org. Donations can be made 24/7 at cvoeo.org and donors can choose to designate to a specific program when making a gift. To have on hand for offline donations, we’ve created the following General Donation Form which captures important information. Please bring these to the Philanthropy team via email at philanthropy@cvoeo.org, our offices at 255 in Burlington, or via mail to CVOEO, PO Box 1265, Burlington, VT 05402. Note: For security reasons, forms which include credit card information should never be emailed.
Through our online fundraising software, Fundraise Up, we can provide unique fundraising campaigns, QR codes, peer-to-peer campaigns, website pop-ups and more! Please reach out via the General Support Request Form above.
In kind support includes donations of physical items such as food, furniture, etc. and donations of services such as a free or discounted service rate, free marketing ad, etc. Tracking these donations is important for the philanthropy and finance teams, as well as to ensure we are properly acknowledging the generosity of those who give. Please have donors fill out the below In Kind Donation Form and then submit this to Linnie Trimmer, ltrimmer@cvoeo.org, and Taylor Thornton, tthornton@cvoeo.org.
