About Vermont Tenants (VTI)

Vermont Tenants has a statewide outreach.

Our office is located at 294 North Winooski Avenue in Burlington, Vermont. We provide free direct services to tenants including advice advocacy and referrals and we also conduct workshops for various groups on residential rental housing laws, codes and more. Much of our service is provided by phone but walk-in clients can usually be assisted during normal business hours. We produce and distribute the widely used handbook, "Renting in Vermont, Handbook. " This handbook provides information about Vermont's Landlord-Tenant laws.

VTI's staff also participates in the public policy process and encourages state, local and federal policies that increase the quantity, quality, safety, and affordability of housing. We endorse policies that ensure fair and equal access to housing for all.
