Head Start Currently Offers
Four Program Options for Families
1. Full day, full year classroom:
Children attend a classroom setting five days each week, year-round. Children attend a classroom setting five days each week year round. Parents may be responsible to the child care site for a co-payment for the child care portion of the week.
2. Center-based classroom:
Children generally attend a classroom four or five mornings each week from September through May.
3. Combination classroom:
Children attend a classroom three mornings or afternoons each week from September through May, and receive one home visit per month with a Head Start staff member.
4. Home-based program:
A staff member goes to the family’s home once a week from September through May to work with parents to provide learning experiences for the children. Children are also able to participate in playgroup activities.
