Champlain Valley Head Start

Class RoomEarly Head Start and Head Start are national programs that provide services to families with children ages 0 - 5.  Services include:  education, health, nutrition, mental health, and social services that help families and children to grow and to do well in school and in life.

Early Head Start and Head Start help parents to take the lead role in their child’s learning and development, to be their child’s first teacher, and to build positive family relationships.

Early Head Start serves pregnant women and families with children from birth to 3 years of age.

Head Start serves families with children 3 to 5 years of age.

Vermont Family Matters

Vermont Family Matters (VFM) is a statewide collaboration of Head Start and Early Head Start programs. The overarching goal of VFM is to provide families with the resources and tools they need to strengthen their relationships and create positive, nurturing environments for their children. VFM is a voluntary program offered to all VT families with children ages birth through five who meet Head Start income guidelines.
